Major Wynwood Property Changes Hands In High-Profile Deal
A large assemblage of primarily industrial, warehouse and event/exhibition properties in Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood has been acquired in a significant transaction involving two prominent South Florida real estate figures.
The approximately 30-acre Mana Wynwood campus, centered at 318 NW 23rd Street, was sold by Moishe Mana’s Mana Common to Ken Griffin, founder of Citadel. The transaction adds another substantial Miami property to Griffin’s growing South Florida real estate holdings.
While much of the deal closed in late August, additional portions are expected to close before the end of the year. The property could ultimately be positioned for a new campus-style development involving education, technology or other institutional uses.
Given the size of the assemblage and its location in one of Miami’s most active redevelopment districts, the transaction represents a notable shift in ownership for a property that has long figured prominently in Wynwood’s evolution.
Griffin agreed to pay approximately $700 million for the Mana Wynwood property, making the acquisition one of the most significant recent real estate transactions in the neighborhood.
