Developer Oleta Partners has closed a deal with North Miami that could remake more than 180 acres once used as a landfill into a destination that would include retail, offices and residences.
The Biscayne Landing site, at 15045 Biscayne Blvd., still needs a lot of environmental mitigation, which is ongoing, before development can begin.
On Aug. 20, Oleta Partners, which includes Swerdlow Group and the LeFrak Organization, paid more than $17 million in rent, back taxes and other fees to the city to move the project forward.
