7-Acre Development Coming To Aventura

Aventura commissioners last week approved a development featuring a hotel, offices and residential units.
Developer Aventura Land Ventures LLC plans to build the complex on 7.4 acres of vacant land on Northeast 207th Street, also known as Waterways Boulevard, between 29th and 30th avenues.
The project will include a 230-room hotel, a medical office building and a 200-bed assisted living facility. A six-level parking garage will be included in the medical office building. All three of the buildings are expected to be 10 stories high. The project also will include a seven-story office building and a 134-unit residential building connected through a shared four-level parking garage. Retail space will be available on the ground floor of the buildings except for the assisted living facility. Restaurants are also planned.
Two deceleration lanes will be added: on 207th Street into a driveway and on 30th Avenue into a parking garage.
There will be open green space on the roofs of the buildings and on the grounds, with artwork and public benches. The development is expected to be a green certified project.
In 2006, a development project consisting of primarily residential units and a hotel was planned for the site but the owner lost the property due to the recession, Soroka said. Aventura Land Ventures LLC purchased the property in 2013.
The commissioners voted unanimously to approve the project.
