CBRE Arranges 56,000-SF Lease At California Club Shopping Center In Miami
CBRE has arranged a 56,000-square-foot lease on behalf of BridgePrep Academy at California Club Shopping Center, located at 750 Ives Dairy Road in Miami. BridgePrep Academy, a charter school operator with a growing presence across Florida, will occupy the space at the shopping center, which is owned by RK Centers.
CBRE’s Scott Goldstein and Keith Edelman represented the tenant, BridgePrep Academy, in the transaction.
The transaction involved space that was not formally marketed for lease and provided BridgePrep Academy with a facility that met its operational and financial requirements in a market where properties suited for educational use are increasingly difficult to secure.
“Miami doesn’t have a surplus of properties that work for educational operators,” said Goldstein, Senior Vice President at CBRE. “The costs are real, the requirements are specific, and most of what fits never makes it to market. Our market knowledge gave BridgePrep a look at this opportunity before anyone else did, and we moved quickly to make sure they could act on it.”
Educational operators face unique challenges in the real estate market, as facilities must satisfy specific code, layout and operational requirements while remaining financially viable. Properties that meet those criteria are increasingly difficult to identify in South Florida’s competitive market.
The property offers convenient access to surrounding residential neighborhoods and transportation corridors, positioning BridgePrep Academy to serve families across the area. The new facility will support the charter school’s continued growth and help meet demand for public charter school options in South Florida.
