Bal Harbour Shops Gives Retailers OK To Open Stores In Brickell CityCentre

The owners of the Bal Harbour Shops will allow their high-end tenants to move into the new Brickell CityCenter.
It was reported in January that the Whitman family, which owns the highly successful shopping mall, made an equity investment in the $1.05 billion project in Brickell by Swire Properties. While Swire maintained majority control of the mixed-use project, some details of that agreement were revealed in Miami-Dade Circuit Court records.
Bal Harbour Shops has agreements with most of their tenants forbidding them from locating in competing areas, often much of Miami-Dade. However, its agreement with Swire will allow those tenants to move into the retail portion of Brickell CityCentre, which has 520,000 square feet of retail planned.
Tenants in Bal Harbour Shops include Dolce & Gabbana, Georgio Armani, Gucci, Hermes, Marc Jacobs, Prada and Versace.
