Billionaire Rupert Murdoch Proposes Massive Entertainment Complex Near Miami Zoo

Two companies are vying to develop a massive entertainment complex next to the Miami Zoo.
Billionaire media mogul Rupert Murdoch has proposed building a $930 million hotel and retail complex centered around a 20th Century Fox theme park.
Murdoch, the chairman of 20th Century Fox, recently announced the company’s first theme park, to be located on casino giant Genting Group’s Resorts World property in Malaysia.
The park, to be called Miami Wilds, would feature rides based on the movie company’s blockbusters. It would include an Ice Age-themed water park; 30,000 square feet of space for stores and restaurants; an outdoor space for concerts and sporting events; and a 400-room hotel, according to a 158-page proposal.
A competing plan by Dinosaur Park International would feature an open-air museum with hundreds of life-sized dinosaur replicas and interactive activities, including a sandbox fossil dig.
