Broward Health Unveils Designs For New Medical Office Buildings, Parking Garage
Broward Health announced plans for the construction of two cutting-edge medical office buildings and a parking garage at Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale and Broward Health North in Deerfield Beach. This expansion represents a major step in bolstering the system’s healthcare offerings and expanding its footprint across South Florida.
“The new medical office buildings will serve as a cornerstone for our ongoing growth, allowing us to expand our network of physicians and services to better meet the needs of our patients,” said Shane Strum, President & CEO of Broward Health. “This project is a significant part of our strategic plan to strengthen Broward Health’s position as a leader in healthcare, enhancing access to care and building a healthier future for our community.”
The development, designed by The Beck Group in collaboration with DMZ Architects, will introduce state-of-the-art facilities that are slated to open in 2027.

The new medical office buildings will be designed with flexibility and scalability in mind, ensuring they can adapt to the evolving healthcare needs of the community while enhancing both patient and staff experiences.
Project Details
Broward Health Medical Center medical office building:
- Size: 188,000 square feet across eight floors
- Exam Rooms: 129 rooms, with the ability to expand to 237
- Specialties: cardiovascular services, pulmonology, primary care, gastroenterology, neuroscience, women’s services and space for future growth
Broward Health North medical office building:
- Size: 114,000 square feet across six floors
- Exam Rooms: 75 rooms, with the ability to expand to 123
- Specialties: cardiovascular services, neuroscience, orthopedics and space for future growth
Parking Garage at Broward Health Medical Center:
- Size: 300,000 square feet across seven floors
- Capacity: Approximately 700 parking spaces
Inspired by the iconic Deerfield Beach lighthouse, these buildings will embody a design that symbolizes hope and guidance, while also reflecting the coastal beauty of South Florida. The architecture will seamlessly blend with the surrounding environment, fostering a sense of community and connection.

The project includes a standardized clinic floor design to ensure consistency across the system, with flexible layouts that can adapt to future needs. These features will optimize operations and elevate both patient and staff experiences, enhancing overall healthcare delivery.

The new medical office buildings at Broward Health Medical Center and Broward Health North will redefine healthcare delivery, offering modern, efficient spaces designed to meet the needs of the growing community for years to come. These new medical office buildings, in addition to the new freestanding emergency departments that are in development, represent the first new construction for Broward Health in 25 years.
