Celebrity Fashion Designer To Build 30,000 SF Facility In Miami

Celebrity fashion designer Naeem Kahn plans to open a new facility on the Miami River, where he plans to manufacture clothing for his high-end brand.
The designer would combine a manufacturing space with a training center at a county-owned lot at 1175 NW South River Drive.
Khan plans to spend $6 million building a 30,000-square-foot facility where it would employ at least 50 people making an average of $50,000 a year. The 30-year lease with the county would let Khan rent the one-acre site for about $9,000 a year to start, rising to about $30,000 in the third year, with an escalator clause after that.
Miami-Dade County commissioners gave initial approval on Monday.
