Cruise Ship Operator Opens 130,000 SF Office In Miami For North American Cruise HQ
MSC Group, the Geneva-based, privately held cruise operator, has officially opened a new 130,000-square-foot office in downtown Miami, solidifying its growing presence in South Florida. The space serves as the headquarters for the company’s North American Cruise Division and consolidates roughly 400 employees representing both of its cruise brands: MSC Cruises, which operates a fleet of 23 ships, and luxury brand Explora Journeys, which currently has two vessels in service.
Local leaders and business stakeholders gathered at Sawyer’s Walk this week for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening. Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava praised the move, noting that the headquarters’ proximity to PortMiami reinforces the county’s status as a global center for cruise and cargo operations while delivering significant job creation and economic benefits.
MSC Group invested approximately $100 million to build out the new office, which occupies the entire seventh floor of Block 55 at Sawyer’s Walk. The 1.5-million-square-foot mixed-use development, led by SG Holdings, also includes an 18-story affordable senior housing tower and 180,000 square feet of retail space. National retailers at the project include Target, Aldi, CVS, Starbucks, Ross Dress for Less, Burlington, and Five Below.
According to the Miami-Dade Beacon Council, the new headquarters is expected to support an additional 1,500 jobs over the next three years and generate roughly $300 million in recurring annual economic impact across the county.
The downtown office represents the latest in a series of major South Florida investments by MSC Group. In 2025, the company unveiled its new MSC Miami Cruise Terminal at PortMiami, a nearly 500,000-square-foot facility that is now the largest cruise terminal in the world, capable of handling up to 36,000 passengers per day. The terminal also serves as the home port for MSC World America, the company’s newest cruise ship.
In addition to its Miami expansion, MSC Group last year signed a 33,827-square-foot office lease at BayView Corporate Tower in Fort Lauderdale, further extending its regional footprint.
