Latitude Group’s Key Biscayne Retail-Office Project Gets Big Win At Key Biscayne Council Meeting

Latitude Group‘s site plan for its office-retail project at the entrance to Key Biscayne was approved with a 5-2 vote before the Key Biscayne Village Council Tuesday night.

The property owner has development authority as of right, so the site plan approval is tantamount to project approval. The 26,000 square-foot project will have retail on the ground floor, office on the second and padel ball courts on the roof.

“We are excited to move to the next stage of Latitude Group’s innovative office-retail project after winning overwhelming support from the Key Biscayne Village Council and hearing the applause from residents at the meeting,” said Latitude Group principal Carlos Lopez. “We are committed to making this project at the entrance to Key Biscayne a point of pride for everyone.”

Next, Latitude Group will pursue the construction permit at the 59,000-square-foot site at 12-24 Crandon Blvd.

The developer, Latitude Group, has a strong interest in modern, innovative design, which it also applied to its 22-unit luxury condominium project The Terraces in Fort Lauderdale Beach. Fort Lauderdale Beach has received lots of interest from local government, which is pumping more than $55 million into the neighborhood, including adding two new waterfront parks. Additionally, the nearby marina is undergoing a $70 million renovation.

“Our focus in all of our projects is to create beautiful designs that residents will appreciate and become iconic,” said Latitude Principal Luis Estrada. “Both The Terraces and the Key Biscayne project will add to the value of their communities.”
