The global law firm Jones Day marks its entrance into Florida with a new full-floor office lease totaling 21,363 square feet at 600 Brickell, at Brickell World Plaza, which represents positive absorption of office space for the Miami market.
Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) completed the transaction on behalf of Foram Group, the developer of the 40-story office tower in the Brickell Financial District.
Jones Day is a global law firm with more than 2,400 lawyers and 40 offices around the world. This is Jones Day’s first office in Florida, which will enable the law firm to better serve clients in transactional and litigation matters throughout the state, as well as clients doing business with Latin America.
It was announced in February that the firm was looking for a Miami home.
“Miami continues to evolve as a key business nerve center for Latin America, and our presence here will not only help expand our capabilities in serving clients in that region but also to meet the needs of the numerous companies we serve in Florida,” said Pedro Jimenez, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Miami office. “Our space at Brickell World Plaza is a reflection of our commitment to this market and to providing exceptional service to our clients from here.”
JLL Executive Vice President Glenn H. Gregory and Senior Vice President Noël Steinfeld completed the lease transaction on behalf of the tower’s developer. This is the sixth office transaction the team has completed at 600 Brickell this year. CBRE’s Carter Hopkins represented Jones Day. Financial terms for the lease were not disclosed.
“This is a significant transaction for 600 Brickell and for Miami, as top law firm Jones Day has selected to open its first Florida office in our city,” said JLL’s Gregory. “The new-to-market tenant brings additional professionals who will work in Brickell and solidifies 600 Brickell’s standing as an address of choice for top-tier international companies doing business in Miami.”
