Messinger Brings Historic Miami Beach Office Condo To Market
Cushman & Wakefield Director Gordon Messinger is bringing the historic two-story, 21,000-square-foot penthouse at 605 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach to market fully leased.
With a long-term tenant and cash flow in place, Cushman & Wakefield – in conjunction with a group of private local investors and Marcus & Millichap – is marketing the 21,000-square-foot space for sale.
“The penthouse at 605 Lincoln offers the rare opportunity to own a landmark asset in one of the world’s most iconic settings,” said Messinger. “The location, the history, the architecture, and the demographics are unmatched. There is nothing else like it on the market.”
Messinger recently filled the space by securing a ten-year NNN lease with Compass, an $800 million technology-driven residential real estate brokerage with offices in New York City, Boston, Washington, D.C., and the Hamptons. Compass will immediately occupy both floors and all 21,000 square feet of the penthouse space in the renowned 72,000-square-foot building. Pedro J. Garcia of Binswanger-Gateway Partnership represented Compass in the transaction.
“This office condo is one of the most unique spaces in all of Miami and the only workspace Compass pursued aggressively,” said Messinger.
“Compass is incredibly excited to occupy this space,” said Beth Butler, who was recently named President of Compass Florida. “605 Lincoln is a one-of-a-kind historical landmark which aligns with both our commitment to the community and our focus on the future and technology.”
The two-story penthouse offers a modern, open interior and incredible panoramic views of Lincoln Road and Miami Beach. The space is located on the sixth and seventh floors of the famed Art Deco office edifice constructed in 1936 by architect Robert E. Collins. The building was once home to Sony Music.
The property also provides frontage on one of the world’s most iconic stretches of pedestrian roadway. The prominent structure sits at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Lincoln Road on the acclaimed Lincoln Road Mall. Tenants are served by a ground-floor Starbucks and two nearby parking facilities. The space is within walking distance of Miami Beach Convention Center, New World Symphony, Miami City Ballet, Bass Museum of Art, South Beach, and an array of premium restaurants, hotels, and retailers.
