PEBB Enterprises, Banyan Development Bring Lowe’s To New Retail Project In Port St. Lucie’s Tradition

PEBB Enterprises and Banyan Development significantly enhanced the joint venture’s Shoppes at Southern Grove project in Port St. Lucie’s master-planned Tradition community with the addition of home improvement retailer Lowe’s.

Construction of the 134,000-square-foot Lowe’s store is underway, with a projected opening in 2026.

The Lowe’s at Shoppes at Southern Grove will also include a garden center. It addresses a need for new home improvement retail in Tradition, the 8,300-acre community that is fueling Port St. Lucie’s ascension as one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities.

“We are incredibly excited to bring a popular national brand like Lowe’s to Shoppes at Southern Grove,” said PEBB Enterprises Vice President of Leasing – Senior Director Jenny Schuemann. “Tradition is experiencing tremendous growth, with over 38,000 new homes planned for development in the surrounding area. This new Lowe’s, along with other retailers we are actively negotiating with, will serve the needs of this rapidly expanding community.”

Shoppes at Southern Grove is located at the intersection of Southwest Becker Road and Southwest Village Parkway. The project site is situated near I-95 and Becker Road, an area with heavy traffic.
In addition to Lowe’s, Shoppes at Southern Grove will feature six outparcels. Several national retailers are currently in contract negotiations for these spaces, but opportunities ranging from 0.5 to 1.8 acres are still available.

Fueled by Tradition, Port St. Lucie continues to grow by approximately 10,000 people annually. Tradition’s neighborhoods are designed to surround a central retail district, ensuring that shopping and dining are just a short distance away. Shoppes at Southern Grove is strategically located to capitalize on this growth and meet the demand for additional retail and dining options.
