Riviera Beach To Auction Residential, Commercial Properties At Firesale Prices

For the first time, the city of Riviera Beach will hold an auction of residential and commercial properties.
The event will be held Jan. 25 at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Banquet Hall, 180 E. 13th St.
More than 50 single-family homes and lots, multi-family parcels and commercial development sites will be for sale. The city acquired the properties through housing programs or for non-payment of taxes.
Riviera Beach says it needs money for capital improvements. The city has hired Pompano Beach-based Fisher Auction Co. to conduct the sale.
“Given the wide-range of both residential and commercial properties available during this unique event, we feel the auction process will generate the highest number of potential bidders and the most revenue for the city,” Lamar Fisher, head of the auctioneer, said in a statement.
