Riviera Beach's Huge Marina Redevelopment Project Breaks Ground
Riviera Beach’s $375 million marina redevelopment project broke ground, nearly three months after the city approved it March 14.
Viking Developers, which runs a yacht service center at the marina, will cover $336 million of the $375 million marina project, and the city will cover the rest. The developers negotiated a 50-year lease to manage the marina, which will eventually have a two-story Riviera Beach Event Center replacing Newcomb Hall and a $4 million makeover for Bicentennial Park.
New features for the public-private project include new shops, restaurants, a boardwalk promenade and improved facilities.
The project is expected to be complete by late summer 2015.
