Proposed changes are under consideration that would smooth out ambiguities in the law that have been used to push back on proposals as well as tighten rules around project heights and the types of sites that qualify under its provisions.
Groundbreaking on the project will begin in the third quarter of 2024, with a scheduled completion date at the end of 2025.
The plan is to take a 5,000-acre property that GL Homes owns adjacent to the new city of Westlake and shuffle 1,277 units (homes approved for construction but that haven’t been built yet) and move the units elsewhere.
The Miami-based developer is building the five-story project on a 2.1-acre property at 13800 NW 22nd Ave.
