Terranova Inks 15-Year Lease Deal For 26,000-SF Anchor Tenant In Boca

Terranova Corporation Chairman Stephen Bittel announced the completion of a 15-year lease deal for a 25,837 square feet of space for Sprouts Farmers Market at the Shadowwood Square shopping center at 9789 Glades Road in Boca Raton.

The healthy grocery store will offer fresh, natural, and organic foods at the space previously occupied by Steinmart. A grand opening date will be announced next year.

Sprouts Farmers Market, with more than 360 stores in 23 states from coast to coast, is noted as one of the country’s fastest-growing retailers making healthy food more accessible to the communities it operates in. Sprouts offers a fresh, friendly take on grocery shopping with the season’s freshest produce at the heart of the market and a custom-curated selection of healthful products, including fresh meat and seafood, immune-boosting supplements, and plant-based items. The company also has robust community outreach and corporate giving programs, including the Sprouts Healthy Communities Foundation which empowers people of all ages, including children, to live healthier lives by supporting programs that teach nutrition education and increase access to fresh, nutritious food.

“We are excited to enter the Boca Raton market as part of our national expansion to meet a growing demand for our affordably priced, fresh, natural and organic products,” said Sprouts’ Chief Format Officer Dave McGlinchey. “Beyond our traditional grocery offerings, we expect that the Boca community will appreciate our assortment of healthful products with special attributes, such as plant-based, gluten-free, keto-friendly, and grass-fed.”

Added Terranova’s Bittel, “As part of our commitment to Boca Raton, and by extension South Florida, we are happy to welcome Sprouts Farmers Market to the community. Sprouts’ decision to sign a long-term lease at Shadowwood Square is the latest evidence of the trend in retailers anticipating the growing needs of the local community as well as the plethora of individuals and families, including out-of-state residents, relocating to Boca Raton. The Boca real estate market remains strong and well-positioned for growth based on the ongoing migration of local and new-to-market businesses, residents and tourists.”

The 220,426-square-foot retail center is strategically located in West Boca at the northeast corner of the intersection noted as the area’s most desirable (US-441 and Glades Road in Palm Beach County). Other anchors at the site include: Bed Bath & Beyond; Old Navy; and Regal Cinemas.
