Berger Commercial Realty’s Steve Hyatt Brokers Sale Of Classic Collision Center In Fort Lauderdale
Berger Commercial Realty/CORFAC International announced the successful sale of Classic Collision Center, a 5,279-square-foot industrial automotive facility situated on 0.6 acres just south of Downtown Fort Lauderdale at 1927 SW 1st Avenue. The property traded for $1,825,000, with Berger Commercial Realty Senior Vice President Steve Hyatt, representing the seller, 1163 Holdings LLC.
The transaction closed February 27.
The buyer, Scott Harvey, was represented by Matthew McGeever of Lokation Realty. Harvey, a retired car dealer, purchased the property as a personal investment.
Currently operating as a full-service collision and repair center, the site reflects continued demand for automotive-related real estate—an asset class supported by limited zoning availability and resilient consumer needs.
“Automotive service properties remain highly sought after because zoning can be difficult to secure and the use tends to perform through market cycles,” said Hyatt. “The need for collision and repair doesn’t disappear—drivers are on the road every day.”
The property has a notable local history. It was formerly home to Fender Mender, which later sold to a national, publicly traded firm now operating the location under the Classic Collision brand.
Hyatt brings deep sector expertise to the transaction, having represented major automotive dealership groups and automotive-related properties across South Florida for more than 18 years. He also has an extensive automotive retail background, including prior experience as Vice President of Corporate Development at AutoNation.
“This sale underscores the value of specialized expertise,” Hyatt added. “Understanding the operational requirements, zoning constraints, and buyer demand drivers in automotive real estate is critical to getting deals across the finish line.”
