Aerospace Firm Inks 76,000 SF Deal In New Miramar Industrial Building

CBRE has arranged a 75,860-square-foot lease for Kellstrom Defense Aerospace at Miramar Centre Building B, a new 304,400-square-foot building in the 77-acre industrial park owned by landlord IDI/Gazeley.
Kellstrom Defense Aerospace is a newly acquired subsidiary of international defense aftermarket firm the Merex Group, based in Southern California, and will assume occupancy in December. It will be the first tenant to occupy the newly built industrial building, and the fourth aviation-related company to lease space at Miramar Centre.

“While the company was considering the option of relocating to California, it became clear, after considering landlord proposals from both areas, that Miramar was the best alternative for the new business,” said CBRE’s Harry Tangalakis.

Tangalakis, along with CBRE‘s Tom O’Loughlin and Larry Genet represented Merex in the transaction. Larry Dinner of IDI/Gazelly represented Miramar Centre B, LLC.

“With all three of South Florida’s airports expanding to accommodate more passenger and cargo traffic, we are experiencing a measurable increase in demand by users in the aviation industry throughout South Florida,” added CBRE South Florida Managing Director Ken Krasnow.

Prior to being acquired by Merex in May, Kellstrom Defense Aerospace division was part of Kellstrom Industries and occupied a portion of its 250,000 square feet at 3701 Flamingo Road in Miramar.
