Blanca CRE Announces Healthcare Division Expansion With New Associate VP

Blanca Commercial Real Estate announced the appointment of Talia Abad as Associate Vice President, strengthening the firm’s thriving healthcare practice.

Blanca CRE maintains nearly two million square feet of medical office space under leasing management across Miami-Dade and Broward counties.

“We are thrilled to have Talia on board,” said Tere Blanca, Founder and CEO of Blanca CRE. “Her deep knowledge of healthcare real estate, her drive and track record of delivering exceptional results for clients, makes her the perfect fit for our team. “We’ve realized rapid growth and success for our clients in our healthcare division led by Christie Grays Chambers, and Talia’s expertise will only accelerate that momentum as we continue to serve the medical community in South Florida,” she added.

Talia Abad brings over five years of commercial real estate experience, having begun her career with ABG Commercial Realty in Boston before joining Cushman & Wakefield. At Cushman & Wakefield, she specialized in life sciences before transitioning to their healthcare advisory practice in South Florida. Her transaction portfolio includes prestigious institutions and enterprises such as Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Tampa General Hospital, Bristol Myers Squibb, as well as local medical practices. A founding member and Director of Membership for the South Florida Association of Medical Facilities Professionals (AMFP), Talia is also active in CREW Miami and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Committee. Her achievements include being recognized as a 2023 CoStar Power Broker and earning scholarships from the CCIM Massachusetts Foundation and CREW Convention. Talia graduated cum laude from Suffolk University with a B.S. in Sociology, an MBA, and an M.S. in Crime & Justice Studies. Fluent in English, Spanish, French, and Hebrew, she is well-equipped to serve South Florida’s diverse healthcare community.

“I am honored to join Blanca CRE and be part of such a respected team,” said Talia Abad. “The healthcare real estate landscape demands a nuanced understanding of medical operations, and Blanca’s reputation for excellence in the field is unmatched. I’m very eager to continue learning and growing within this role, contributing to the work Blanca is doing, and supporting the evolving needs of the healthcare sector in South Florida.”

The firm’s healthcare division has seen remarkable growth under the leadership of Christie Grays Chambers, who became Lead of the Healthcare Practice in August 2024. Under her leadership, Christie has led the expansion of the firm’s healthcare leasing portfolio and achieved 100% occupancy in two medical office buildings that were previously only 50% occupied. She also orchestrated the successful sale of a 48,000-square-foot specialty hospital. In early 2024, Healthcare Realty nationally recognized Christie as Broker of the Quarter, alongside two Blanca CRE colleagues.

“Talia’s experience with healthcare compliance and medical facility requirements strengthens our ability to guide clients through complex real estate decisions,” said Christie Grays Chambers, Vice President and Lead of Blanca CRE’s Healthcare Practice. “Her understanding of specialized medical build-outs and facility certifications will prove invaluable as we continue expanding our healthcare practice. I look forward to working closely with her as we continue to expand our vision for healthcare real estate in South Florida.”
