BOMA Names TOBY Award Winners For 2022

BOMA, the Building Owner’s and Manager’s Association of Ft. Lauderdale and the Palm Beaches, held its annual TOBY (The Outstanding Building of the Year) gala on Friday, November 11, to award top performers in building management and operations.  The local awards are the first step to winning regional and national competitions, which are highly coveted by asset managers and building owners.  The awards highlight management teams that operate their properties at the highest levels and are judged by a group of their peers.

This year’s theme for the TOBY awards was Top Gun and these winning management teams are considered the “best of the best:”

  • Renovated Building: Northbridge Center owned by Vanderbilt and managed by Julie Palmer Nicholson with Vanderbilt
  • Industrial Office Park: Executive Airport Center owned by EastGroup and managed by Isabella Blanco with EastGroup
  • Retail: Fountains of Miramar owned by Gateway Miramar and managed by Joannie Knight with Stiles Property Management
  • Corporate Facility: Orange Theory managed by Joannie Knight with Stiles Property Management
  • Suburban Office Low Rise: Weston Pointe owned by NY Life and managed by Cary Fronstin with Foundry
  • Suburban Office Mid-Rise: Royal Palm Office Park owned by Lincoln Property Group and managed by Alina Rizo with Lincoln Property Group
  • Office Building between 100,000 SF and 249,999 SF: Sawgrass Lake Center owned by Foundry and managed by Paula Duran with Foundry
  • Office Building between 250,000 SF and 499,999 SF: City Place Tower owned by Related Companies and managed by Michele Pellico with Related Companies


Runners up this year included:

  • Bridge Point 595 managed by Marlene Alonso of Bridge Industrial
  • The Plaza at Lake Park managed by Carlos Fernandez of The Sterling Organization
  • Monarch Lakes managed by Rick Alvarez with Workspace Property Trust
  • Broward Financial Center managed by John Jolley of JLL
  • Cypress Corporate Center managed by Nicole Bukowiecki of HS Capital
  • Boca Village Corporate Center managed by John Jolley of JLL


Individual awards were presented to the following outstanding members:

  • Rising Star: Andres Sosa with World One
  • Associate Member of the Year: Jeanette Alston-Watkins with Soprema
  • Building Engineer of the Year: Michael Martinez with CP Group
  • Property Manager of the Year: Elizabeth David with Bridge Industrial
  • Outstanding Member of the Year: Marty Busekrus with Ciminelli
