Eastern National Bank Relocates HQ

Avison Young completed a new 21,492 square foot lease for the relocation of Eastern National Bank’s corporate headquarters from Brickell to Dadeland @ 9700, an 11-story, 67,142-square-foot building located at 9700 South Dixie Highway (US1) within the Miami/Dadeland/Pinecrest submarket.
Avison Young Principal and Managing Director Donna Abood and leasing team, Joe Abood and Ericka Witkowski, completed the transaction, which brings the building to 100 percent occupancy, on behalf of the Landlord, Dadeland Executive Plaza, LLC, of which Robert Berrin and Ike Fisher are managing partners.
Abood and her leasing team, were retained by the landlord to execute the leasing strategy for the asset upon its purchase in September 2014, tapped into the desire of Eastern National Bank to expand its footprint beyond the CBD and enter the Pinecrest and Palmetto Bay markets.

“The bank was desirous of a location that would not only continue to signify the prominence of its stature but would also afford them a higher degree of opportunity to tap into clientele from neighboring areas,” said Abood. “This is a trend that we anticipate will continue and properties like Dadeland @ 9700, with tremendous ease of access to amenities allows for workforce recruitment and client experience to be enhanced.”

This latest transaction represents nearly 65 percent of the building the Avison Young team was able to backfill with new tenants over the past year. During that time, ownership applied numerous capital improvements including a new façade and common areas designed by Burton Hersh, P.A.
Founded in 1969, Eastern National Bank is one of the oldest community banks in Miami Dade County, specializing in commercial and real estate lending, trade financing and international personal banking.

“This new location will give Eastern National Bank the opportunity of becoming the primary community bank for the South Miami-Dade communities of Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, Cutler Bay and The Falls. This part of the County has an ideal mix of residential and commercial clients and is perfect fit to meet our objectives as a community bank,” said Alberto Colon, President and CEO of Eastern National Bank.
