Gap To Take 20,000 SF In New Flagship Store

Comras Company has facilitated a long-term 20,000 square foot lease which will enable the development of a new Gap flagship retail store at 1001 Lincoln Road.
The new ground-up building will reside at the site of Gap’s existing store, on the corner of Lincoln Road and Michigan Avenue in Miami Beach’s famed shopping district.
Capitalizing on the verticality trend of urban cities, the global retail giant will occupy approximately 6,800 square feet of ground floor and 13,200 square feet of second floor retail space in the soon to be constructed two-story structure totaling 29,000 square feet. There will be approximately 9,000 square feet available for an additional tenant.
Michael Comras, President of Comras Company, oversaw this transaction on behalf of the landlord, along with Jonathan Fryd. Comras Company worked closely with the City of Miami Beach’s Historic Preservation Board, City Staff and other concerned groups on this project. “An incredible blend of design and destination, the new building will be a prime example of Miami Beach’s progressive design continuum which builds upon its storied past and vibrantfuture,” said Mr. Comras. “Be it Lincoln Road or Collins Avenue, we continue to see national retailers understanding the robust shopping cadence of Miami Beach.”
Construction of the new structure is scheduled to begin in early 2013.
