Law Firm Gunster Inks 21,000 SF Full-Floor Lease

Brickell World Plaza inked its fifth lease in the first half of the year with law firm Gunster signing a lease to occupy the entire 35th floor totaling 21,355 square feet at 600 Brickell at Brickell World Plaza.
Jones Lang LaSalle exclusively handles the office leasing on behalf of Foram Group, the developer of the newest Class A office tower in the Brickell Financial District. The law firm is relocating its office from One Biscayne Tower in Downtown Miami. Financial terms of the 12-year lease were not disclosed.
Gunster chose Brickell World Plaza after touring the market for new offices for 18 months.
Among the tenants calling the 40-story tower home are: banking giant Northern Trust, law firm Hogan Lovells, Crédit Agricole Private Banking Miami, Boston Consulting Group, New York-based commercial and construction mortgage lender Doral Money Inc., and global mediation and arbitration service provider JAMS.
“We’re excited that Gunster is moving its Miami office to the 600 Brickell building. This is the finest office building in Miami and is a prime location in Brickell, the hub of the city’s business community,” said H. William ‘Bill’ Perry, Gunster’s Managing Shareholder. “This move continues to position us as one of Florida’s preeminent law firms and will further help us to grow and recruit talented attorneys to Gunster.”
The move to 600 Brickell affirms Gunster’s commitment to Miami, as the firm continues to invest in its attorneys and staff in the market.  Over the past 18 months, the law firm has grown by recruiting numerous high profile, highly-skilled shareholders and associates to its existing Miami office established in 1995.  Senior attorneys who recently joined the firm include Judge Angel Cortiñas, a white collar defense lawyer and litigator; Simon Ferro, former U.S. ambassador to Panama and an environmental and land use attorney; Amy Brigham Boulris and Juan Muniz, property rights, eminent domain and land use attorneys; and William Hill, a business litigator.
Jones Lang LaSalle Executive Vice President Glenn H. Gregory and Senior Vice President Noël Steinfeld represented 600 Brickell’s developer, Foram Group, in the lease. Together, Jack Lowell of Flagler Real Estate Services and Gregory Katz of Studley represented Gunster. So far this year, Gregory and Steinfeld have leased 108,415 square feet of space at the building.
Brickell World Plaza is one of a select few office properties in the world to earn LEED Platinum pre-certification from the US Green Building Council. Amenities for tenants include a private fitness center, conference center and tele-conference facilities, and a valet dry cleaner service. One of the tower’s unique features is a 30,000-square-foot landscaped plaza that welcomes visitors and offers employees easy access to the street level.
