Coconut Grove-based law firm Coffey Burlington has signed a long-term lease for over 14,000 square feet in the Penthouse suite of SBS Tower.
The deal represents one of the largest law firm leases in South Florida year-to-date.
Coffey Burlington is a law firm with over 35 years of experience representing a multitude of individuals and businesses in state and federal courts throughout Florida and the United States. The firm’s clients include Fortune 500 companies, financial institutions, developers, architects, investors, contractors, law firms, accounting firms, and local governments.
“After 25 years at our current location, we had outgrown the office space. The SBS penthouse offers us stunning 360 degree views of Miami and can accommodate our need for more space,” said Robert Burlington, managing partner of Coffey Burlington.
Coffey Burlington was represented by Scott Sime, Elizabeth Santos and Robert Scola III of Sime Realty Corporation.
“The firm wanted to remain in Coconut Grove, but with only a 4% vacancy rate, we had to find an off-market space,” said Scott Sime, president of Sime Realty. “Fortunately, the leasing team and majority owner of SBS Tower was able to create a solution by relocating a few tenants to accommodate Coffey Burlington”, added Elizabeth Santos, vice president of Sime Realty.
“In their new office space, the firm will be able to utilize cutting edge design and new technologies that will enhance their productivity and enable them to continue their trend towards a paperless office”, said Robert Scola, III, associate broker at Sime Realty.
SBS Tower was represented by Alfred Martinez of Key Realty. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
