Stiles Wins $5 Million Tenant Improvement Contract

Stiles Construction has been awarded a 105,000-square-foot $5 million tenant improvement project for the brand new Amadeus North America headquarters in Miami, Florida.
Amadeus North America, Inc., the Miami-based unit of Amadeus, is the leading travel technology partner and transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry.
“As we see our new space taking shape, it becomes increasingly evident that Stiles shares our vision for the build-out and is committed to achieving a result that truly reflects our brand and corporate objectives,” said Oscar Rau, facilities manager at Amadeus. “This project is highly complicated and includes customized power systems not typically found in corporate build-outs. Therefore we were very careful in selecting a construction firm to lead this charge and feel confident that Stiles’ expert team will complete our new space on time and within budget.”
Amadeus’ new headquarters is located at 3470 Northwest 82^nd Avenue in Doral, approximately one mile from their current location. Stiles will build-out the majority of the corporate space, which will be geared towards functionality and hurricane storm protection. Included in the plans is a service call center, laboratories and Amadeus’ main customer training center. The project is also expected to include a unique interior environment and finishes, such as white glass floors, illuminated back painted glass with LED light coves, theatrical ceilings and custom wood millwork. In addition, the offices will house a state-of-the-art hospitality room with interactive glass screens, LED video displays and 48” custom light fixtures.
Amadeus’ plan is aimed at increased energy-efficiency and superior protection from Florida’s hurricane season. To this end, the space will be complete with a sophisticated dedicated chiller system that will be fully operational during heavy windstorms and hurricanes as well as an energy-efficient Flywheel UPS technology system to store and generate power. A portion of the area surrounding the building will be used to accommodate the custom chiller and generator systems as well as improved landscaping.

Construction on the project commenced in April, 2011 and will be completed by August, 2011. The project team consists of Wolfberg Alvarez Architecture and Engineering as well as designer Ponch Herrera of P2 Interiors.
