Sunbeam Makes $14 Million Purchase For Future Expansion Of WSVN

Sunbeam Properties acquired a site in North Bay Village that could accommodate the expansion of WSVN Channel 7.
Billionaire Edmund Ansin owns both Sunbeam Properties, the developer of the Miramar Park of Commerce, and Fox affiliate WSVN.
His real estate company paid $13.76 million to COFE Fund 1 – Grove Bay LLC, a company managed by Eugenio Cosculluela Jr., for the 75,295-square-foot office building at 1400 79th Street Causeway.
The four-story building was built on the 2.7-acre site in 1957. WSVN’s studio’s are across the street. It last traded for $6.75 million in 2012.
Sunbeam Properties VP Andrew Ansin said it acquired the property for future growth. Sunbeam will do some renovations to the building and it could eventually build on the vacant land surrounding it, he said.

“With land getting so expensive and unavailable, we felt that it was good to have it for the future,” Ansin said.
