UM Life Science Inks 20K SF Deal

Advanced Pharma CR has become the second-largest tenant at the University of Miami Life Science & Technology Park after signing a 20,000-square-foot lease.
That brings the occupancy of the 252,000-square-foot research park to just over 60 percent. The park opened in July.
Advanced Pharma is a clinical research testing company that handles studies for pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies. Its plans include a 100-bed trial unit for Phase I clinical studies, a 16-bed intensive procedural unit and 5,000 square feet for Phase II through IV clinical trial work.
The company will have 50 to 100 employees at the park when it is fully operational.
“The UMLSTP provides the exact platform and amenities that we have been seeking,” Advance Pharma President and CEO Samantha Amaba said in a news release. “It will also prove key in helping us network with the University of Miami, its faculty, the Jackson Health System and the other major institutes of the Health District.”
Jones Lang LaSalle’s Richard Schuchts, Catarina Jimenez and Gavin MacPhail represented Wexford Science & Technology, which developed the building and leases the land from the University of Miami. Advanced Pharma was represented by Jeff Sharmat and Jorge Morales with Jones Lang LaSalle.
