4 More Tenants Join Chiquita At DCOTA

The relocation of Chiquita Brands International and its banana division was the most high-profile new deal at the Design Center of the Americas (DCOTA), but four other tenants are also moving into the Dania Beach building.
The banana importer is moving from Charlotte, North Carolina, into a 14,500-square-foot space in the building at 1855 Griffin Road.
Sutton Park Capital signed a 12,000-square-foot lease as the specialty finance firm will leave downtown Fort Lauderdale and more than double its space in DCOTA.
Law firm Behar Gutt & Glazer signed a 8,500-square-foot lease to move from Aventura and escape the traffic.
Debt collector Alliance CAS more than doubled its office space with a 5,500-square-foot lease as it moves from Hallandale Beach.
Finally, security firm Ackerman Group signed a 3,500-square-foot lease to relocate from North Bay Village.
The deals were brokered by Cushman & Wakefield’s John K. Criddle and Cohen Brothers Realty Corp.’s Marc Horowitz. Cohen Brothers owns the property.
DCOTA, which features both design showrooms and office space, totals 775,000 square feet and is also home to tech company Magic Leap. However, Magic Leap is reportedly consolidating the majority of its Florida workforce into the former Motorola facility in Plantation.
JLL’s Rod Loschiavo represented Chiquita, the Easton Group’s Andrew Easton represented Sutton Park Capital, and City Limit Properties represented Alliance CAS in their respective deals.
