Badcock’s Economy Furniture Store Renews 122,500 SF Of Warehouse Space In Pompano Beach

Badcock’s Economy Furniture Store has renewed 35,828 square feet at 2101 Park Central Boulevard and 86,703 square feet at 1521 West Copans Road in Pompano Beach.

Located in Broward County’s largest industrial market, both warehouses are centrally located between I-95 and the Florida Turnpike, providing exceptional product distribution routes.

Colliers Senior Vice President Lauren Pace represented the tenant, Badcock Economy Furniture Store, Inc., in negotiating the renewals. The deals mark Pace’s first large tenant-rep transaction since joining the firm in late 2022. Pace focuses on industrial services alongside Executive Vice President Steven Wasserman and Executive Vice President Erin Byers. The deal is the second lease transaction completed by the team this month, closing over 350,000 square feet total. Earlier in July, a global leader in mature engine maintenance, CTS Engines, signed a lease for 216,224 square feet at Osprey Logistics Park in Coral Springs.

“In light of the recent surge in market rental rates, we’re seeing more tenants opting to renew and restrategize operations,” said Pace. “We’re pleased to have assisted Badcock in partnering with Prologis to restructure its layout for efficiency. Both renewals will be essential to employee retention and will allow Badcock to improve their operations while holding a long-term position in the Pompano submarket.”

A trusted name in the home furnishing industry, Badcock’s Economy Furniture Store has 380 stores across Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia. Founded in 1904, the corporation focuses on offering customers a vast selection of styles in an atmosphere that allows them to picture it in their own homes and access easy in-house financing.

Prologis, Inc., is a global leader in logistics real estate, focusing on high-barrier, high-growth markets. Headquartered in San Francisco, the corporation invests in and develops modern, high-quality properties that set the standard for innovative building design and sustainability. As of June 2023, Prologis owns or has investments in properties and development projects totaling approximately 1.2 billion square feet across 19 countries.

Located in the Northeast Broward submarket, Pompano Beach is a high-demand, stable industrial market with one of the largest inventories in Broward County. In the second quarter of 2023, Pompano Beach had a vacancy rate of 3.6 percent, 60 points lower than Broward County. Its accessibility, diverse range of industries, and rapidly growing local population make it a desirable location for new and existing tenants seeking warehouse space in the market.
