Boca-Based Grover Corlew Breaks Ground On New Luxury Multifamily Development In Fort Lauderdale
Grover Corlew has broken ground on Mayla Cypress, a highly anticipated 312-unit luxury multifamily development located at 6261 NW 6th Way in Fort Lauderdale’s Uptown Urban Village in the Cypress Creek business corridor.
The groundbreaking follows the recent closing of a $92 million construction loan arranged by Berkadia and marks the second luxury residential development under Grover Corlew’s Mayla brand. With units available to lease in the third quarter of 2026 and project completion expected in early 2027, the seven-story Mayla Cypress will offer high-end living in one of South Florida’s evolving submarkets.
“We’re proud to bring Mayla Cypress to life in a neighborhood that’s poised for transformation,” said Anuj Grover, Partner at Grover Corlew. “With the city’s support for mixed-use zoning, the area is evolving into Fort Lauderdale’s next vibrant destination, a walkable, transit-oriented district that blends residential, commercial and lifestyle spaces. Mayla Cypress will provide upscale living for professionals who want to stay connected to where they work and play.”
Mayla Cypress will feature luxury rental residences and a extensive suite of amenities. The community will also offer 586 shared parking spaces, including access for employees of the adjacent Citrix office building.
Situated on a 3.71-acre infill site, Mayla Cypress replaces a formerly underutilized office property and aligns with the City of Fort Lauderdale’s long-term vision for Uptown Urban Village, which is aimed at bringing more residences and mixed-use development to the area near the Cypress Creek Tri-Rail Station and Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport.
“This neighborhood is experiencing a resurgence,” said Mark Corlew, Partner at Grover Corlew. “With the Uptown area’s access to major transportation corridors, employers and lifestyle amenities, Mayla Cypress will offer a modern residential option that enhances livability and connectivity.”
Mayla Cypress was designed by MSA Architects. Straticon is the general contractor.
Mayla Cypress builds on the success of Mayla Pompano, Grover Corlew’s inaugural Mayla-branded project in Pompano Beach, completed in 2024.
Looking ahead, Grover Corlew is preparing for future Mayla communities in key South Florida and Central Florida markets. Plans are underway for a new residential development in Delray Beach, and Grover Corlew is exploring opportunities in the Orlando area, where the company owns the 46-acre Orlando Central office park positioned near Baldwin Park, just south of Winter Park.
