Books & Books' Newstand Opens At Southeast Financial Center

Southeast Financial Center announced that The Newsstand by Books & Books has opened its eighth location for the company and the first in an urban setting.
Through an 800 square foot air conditioned indoor setting extending onto the plaza with its outdoor seating area, The Newsstand by Books & Books will provide consumers with the same independent, locally owned newsstand in its first truly urban setting. Alongside periodicals in a newsstand and rack orientation, The Newsstand by Books & Books will serve as the area’s starting point to have a coffee, read and gather.
“This area equally represents Miami’s core CBD as well as burgeoning living sector,” said Mitchell Kaplan, Owner/Founder, Books & Books. “Southeast Financial Center is one of the most significant properties and the newly redesigned plaza creates a welcoming setting for patrons to interact. This location will serve as the premier destination for the area,” Mr. Kaplan added.
Most recently, the building underwent a 17,000 square foot complete renovation to its east, west and lower lobbies.
Greg Masin, Senior Director, Cushman & Wakefield, represented each side in the transaction. “Books & Books is a Miami icon. The Newsstand, an extension of that brand, was the right presence to have in the Southeast Financial Center plaza,” said Mr. Masin. “We look at the plaza as the living room of the property and the surrounding area. As such, our goal is to bring unique “true Miami” brands to the asset to provide quality food and beverage opportunities for our clients and the urban core.”
