Colliers Names New CEO

Colliers International South Florida is pleased to announce that commercial real estate veteran Stephen Nostrand has been named Chief Executive Officer of Colliers International South Florida.
In this new capacity, he will manage and direct the brokers and staff, and be responsible for managing the revenue of the firm.
“Over the last year our firm has risen to new levels to service our clients, as well as our brokers and staff,” says Donna Abood, now Chairman of the firm. “This announcement is the introduction to the next level of growth that we intend to bring Colliers into, including more service sectors and a culture based on performance.” The changes include the focus on more specialized services to clients in each sector of commercial real estate, including industrial, retail, office, property management, multifamily, hospitality, land, REO, distressed property and note sales.
The reorganization comes one year after Nostrand was named Managing Director as local company owners Donna Abood and Michael T. Fay
announced that they would concentrate on growing and accelerating business by returning to the roots of their history and success – the brokerage world.
The accomplishments that the two have achieved getting back into the market has led them to appoint Nostrand as CEO, with Abood and Fay assuming roles as Chairmen of the Board. In their new capacity, Abood and Fay will build breadth and depth of existing client relationships and implement new strategies to grow the business. By completing this transition Abood and Fay will have more opportunity to meet with clients about their specific needs and structure solutions. “We are looking to drive top performance and intensity of relationships with clients,” says Fay. Thomas D. Wood, Jr. will remain Chief Operating Officer of the firm.
“As a result of listening to our clients and the market, Colliers South Florida has begun building new services and initiatives that help them accelerate their success,” says Nostrand. “We have a high concern for serving our clients and our team members rooted in a pattern of shared values and beliefs. It is that culture that sets us apart from the competition.”
Nostrand has been directly involved in commercial real estate for 35 years, but has been exposed to it all of his life as the third generation in his family to specialize in this industry. His career started at Cross and Brown Company in New York City where his dad was Chairman. He has developed his expertise in South Florida for 30 years. He is also a professor in the Master’s Program for Real Estate Development and Urbanism at the University of Miami.
