JLL Capital Markets announced that John Huguenard, Co-Lead of Industrial Capital Markets, has made the move from the firm’s Chicago office to the Miami office.
With over 30 years of experience in the industry, Huguenard specializes in industrial investment sales for institutional and corporate clients as well as private owners of real estate. He has consistently been one of the nation’s top producers, receiving several industry achievements, including being named top producer for industrial capital markets in 2021. Huguenard received his bachelor’s degree in Personal Management and Labor Relations from Indiana University and is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties.
“The Florida industrial market has remained strong and shows no signs of demand slowing down in the foreseeable future,” said Huguenard. “As part of a business-friendly environment and a hub for international trade investors, tenants continue to look for quality space within the state.”
According to JLL’s Miami Industrial Insight – Q3 2022, vacancy in the market has hit record lows at 1.8% and is expected to remain below 2% in the long term. This, combined with record demand and limited supply, has resulted in year-over-year rent growth of 60%. Furthermore, over 40% of all Class A under-construction space is pre-leased as tenants are looking for spaces.
Huguenard is one of many JLL leaders based in the Miami office, including Matthew Lawton, Investment Sales and Advisory Lead, JLL Capital Markets; Danny Finkle, Retail Group Lead and Co-Head of the Miami office, JLL Capital Markets; Manny DeZarraga, Co-Head of National Investment Sales Advisory Group; Gilda Perez-Alvarado, Global CEO, JLL Hotels & Hospitality Group; and Chris Drew, Lead for JLL’s DE&I committee.
“The addition of another leader to our market demonstrates the strength and resiliency that Florida has shown across the board,” said Finkle. “We are happy to have John join us as we continue to grow our industrial team.”
In addition to Huguenard, Wells Waller has joined Luis Castillo and Cody Brais on the Miami industrial team. Wells previously was in JLL’s Dallas office where he developed a specialization in joint venture equity raises and cold storage, a skill set he intends to leverage in his new role.
“We are excited to expand our team with the addition of Wells, and continue to learn from John, whom we’ve worked closely with on many deals throughout Florida over the years,” said Castillo.
