Miami Law Firm Inks 8,700 SF Expansion Deal

Three years after entering the Miami market, McDonald Hopkins LLC, a business advisory and advocacy law firm with an 80-year history, has expanded its presence at Southeast Financial Center by 8,700 square feet, for a total of 12,600 square feet.
Southeast Financial Center has seen impressive interest and lease activity within the past 12 months, creating the need for current tenants to consider expansions now in order to meet crucial future space requirements. Southeast Financial Center is home to 26 law firms, fourteen of which are listed on the 2013 National Law Journal list of top 350 law firms.

“The last couple of years have not only provided an economic stabilization but a resurgence within the area, and professional services firms have benefited greatly from this increase,” said Donald Cartwright, Senior Vice President with JLL.

Cartwright along with JLL Vice President Nicole Vassilaros are the exclusive leasing agents for Southeast Financial Center.
At the time of the firm’s initial arrival within the Miami market, it cited a significant increase in company revenues coupled with the region’s economic strength as part of the strategic business decision for taking a footprint in this market. With further growth intention from the start, the leasing team at Southeast Financial Center ensured the tower could accommodate the firm’s requirements.

“The firm recognized this potential upon its initial lease execution and reaffirmed its forecast by ensuring it remains within the tower, home to 26 law firms,” continued Cartwright.

McDonald Hopkins’ comprehensive legal services are provided by teams of specialized attorneys and professionals in areas such as business law, litigation, business restructuring and bankruptcy, estate planning, government affairs, healthcare, intellectual property, labor and employment, and mergers and acquisitions. Service and industry specialties are designed to meet the growing challenges that clients face in an increasingly competitive environment.
