Stiles Affiliate Hernandez Construction Breaks Ground On 235,000 SF In Miami

Hernandez Construction, an affiliate of full-service commercial real estate firm, Stiles, has broken ground on the first two buildings slated for Flagler Global Logistics’ highly anticipated Flagler Station Phase III development. Buildings 1 and 2, totaling 235,000 square feet of industrial space, mark the official start of vertical construction on the 1.7 million square-foot Phase III expansion of Flagler Station, South Florida’s largest business park.
Phase III is the final phase of development by Flagler Global Logistics for the notable industrial business park. With five buildings planned this year, Hernandez Construction is responsible for more than 450,000 square feet of Class-A warehouse and distribution space at the site. Buildings 1 and 2 are on fast-track delivery for this summer, with the company planning to break ground on Buildings 3, 4 and 5 within the next few months.
Hernandez Construction is also nearing completion of five buildings comprising 820,000 square feet at Flagler Station Phase II, which were all started in 2014.

“Flagler Station is one of the most impressive developments in Miami, and we are very proud to be a part of this landmark project,” said Alex Hernandez, president of Hernandez Construction. “Our experience in building state-of-the-art industrial spaces that are both efficient and functional made us a perfect fit for this project. We look forward to continuing our strong relationship with Flagler Global Logistics while growing our presence in South Florida.”

Located just off of the Florida Turnpike and NW 106th Street, Flagler Station is being developed by Flagler Global Logistics, a worldwide logistics company providing a full suite of integrated supply chain management services and real estate solutions.  At full build-out, Flagler Station will comprise nearly 14 million square feet of industrial and warehouse space. Currently, the complex boasts a prestigious tenant roster of Florida’s leading companies including Ryder System, Brightstar, State Farm, Progressive Insurance, and Tracfone Wireless, among others.

“With Phase II almost at capacity and demand for quality industrial space reaching its highest level in years, the timing was right to bring Phase III to fruition,” said Chris Scott, president and CEO of Flagler Global Logistics. “Hernandez Construction shares Flagler Global Logistics’ vision to deliver premier facilities that support businesses in the industrial sector. Our collective reputation for developing highly sophisticated projects will bolster Flagler Station’s appeal and standing as a world-class industrial complex.”

Hernandez Construction specializes in the construction of build-to-suit projects serving the commercial and industrial sector. The company was also recently awarded contracts for extensive build-outs by some of the major tenants at Flagler Station, including Vanguard Logistics Services (USA) Inc., one of the world’s leading neutral providers of freight transportation services, and Krystal Logistics, a worldwide logistics solutions provider.
