Transwestern Appoints New Southeast Regional Leader

Transwestern Real Estate Services (TRS) announced that Nathan Knowles has been appointed Executive Managing Director, Southeast Region Leader & Director, Mergers & Acquisitions.

Knowles will develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy that aligns with Transwestern’s broad transformation plan designed to drive revenue, increase market share and expand investor and client relationships. With a strong background in both corporate leadership and commercial real estate operations, his focus will be on partnering with local teams to enhance service line performance and client delivery, while accelerating new business initiatives through strategic alliances, M&A and platform collaboration. Knowles succeeds Bruce Ford, who assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer in 2024.

“Transwestern’s strategic vision harnesses the strength of the firm’s integrated model to drive focused growth in high-potential markets like the Southeast,” said TRS President Greg Munson. “Nathan’s deep knowledge of the region, business acumen and people-first leadership will help us achieve our long-term objectives, while delivering unified, scalable real estate solutions to our clients and investors through connected, top-performing teams.”

Before joining Transwestern, Knowles served as Executive Managing Director and Principal at Colliers, overseeing approximately 400 professionals while leading Atlanta’s operations and partnership. Previously, he was Senior Vice President of Colliers Site Selection, leading the company’s North American site selection services, and a Senior Vice President at JLL. His early career experience in commercial sales and operations, including progressive international leadership roles at Electrolux Group and General Electric, provides clients with specialized expertise on how real estate decisions impact end-to-end business operations.

“Transwestern’s nimble organizational structure eliminates traditional barriers and unlocks more avenues for growth, particularly around opportunities that will enhance our competitive position in high-potential regions like the Southeast,” said Knowles. “Leveraging our platform, which continues to be strengthened by strategic investments in talent, marketing, technology and data analytics, allows us to collaborate more, respond smarter and execute faster. I look forward to deepening this connectivity across the company to deliver at the highest level for all our constituents.”

An Atlanta native, Knowles earned a Master of Business Administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and completed an executive leadership program at IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland.
