Cushman & Wakefield Arranges 11,000-SF Lease At The Main Las Olas

Cushman & Wakefield has arranged a new long-term office lease of 11,309 square feet at The Main Las Olas, a mixed-use office, residential and retail property. The company will occupy space on the 20th floor of the property’s world-class Class A office tower, which overlooks Las Olas Boulevard.

Cushman & Wakefield’s Jacqui Blake and John Picco represented the tenant, Starr Insurance Companies, in the lease negotiations. Christina Jolley and Danet Linares of Blanca Commercial Real Estate represented the owners of the building, Shorenstein Properties LLC and Stiles.

“Starr Insurance Companies’ global headquarters is in Manhattan, but they were interested in a greater presence and new branch office in South Florida. Downtown Fort Lauderdale and The Main Las Olas were the answer to their tri-county search,” said Blake, Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield. “The property will allow them to be in the center of South Florida, in the newest Downtown tower, while taking advantage of reduced costs and implementation of workplace standards.”

The newly constructed The Main Las Olas located at 201 East Las Olas Blvd. attracted Starr Insurance Companies with its distinctive architecture and corporate centered tenant amenities. The premier mixed-used project includes a 25-story Class A office building, complimenting ground level retail, including an organic grocer, and adjacent 341-unit modern multifamily community.

Additional features like the luxurious tenant amenities floor with outdoor deck space, conferencing and training facilities, fitness center, and high-end, walkable amenities that are accessible from the property also made the decision attractive for Starr. The company is expected to move into their new office space within The Main Las Olas office tower during July 2022.

“With our outstanding business climate and unmatched quality of life, companies continue to choose Greater Fort Lauderdale as an ideal place to grow and do business in Florida. We welcome Starr Insurance Companies and wish them continued success in their new home at The Main,” said Bob Swindell, President/CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Broward County’s official public/private partnership for economic development.
