Industry Veteran Leaves Colliers, Joins New Firm As Partner And CIO

David MetalonisLionheart Capital, a Miami-based real estate investment and development firm engaged in the acquisition and repositioning of prime properties, today announced that David Metalonis has joined the firm as its chief investment officer and partner.
The former senior vice president and partner for Colliers International, a South Florida-based privately owned full service commercial real estate firm, will now oversee acquisitions, dispositions, procurement of debt and equity funding for Lionheart Capital.

Metalonis brings to Lionheart Capital more than 12 years of real estate experience and $1.5B in transactional success in the fields of acquisition, disposition, joint venture, development, equity and debt procurement, and investment brokerage of all major asset classes. During his decade at Collier’s, Metalonis became the youngest equity partner nationwide at the age of 26 and was one of its top-producing brokers over the past 10 years.

David Metalonis received an advance certification in real estate and hotel investment from Cornell University in The School of Hotel Administration, a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from NOVA Southeastern University, graduating with Alpha Sigma Gamma Real Estate Honor Society distinctions, and a Bachelor of Science majoring in Finance from the University of Florida, graduating Cum Laude.
Metalonis is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), a licensed Florida real estate broker, a member of the Urban Land Institute’s Young Leaders Committee, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a board member of Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Young Presidents Club, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) and an advisory board member for the University of Florida’s Bergstrom Council for Real Estate Studies.
Metalonis was also recently ranked a “Top 40 Business Professionals under 40” by the South Florida Business Journal.
