Native Realty’s Jaime Sturgis Closes Six Investment Sales Transactions In 2 Weeks

Native Realty Founder and CEO Jaime Sturgis completed six Fort Lauderdale property transactions totaling $13.78 million in combined sale price over the past two weeks. The new deals include the sale of the 13th Street home of popular vintage shop OddBalls Nifty Thrift to Flagler Village’s Montce Swim.

The $2 million sale of the 7,677-square-foot retail building at 530 NE 13th St. closed on Aug. 12. Pioneering 13th Street developer and investor Abby Laughlin sold the property to Montce, which plans expand from its Flagler Village location to the 13th Street building.

Founded by South Florida natives Alexandra and Devin Grief, Montce opened its first store in Fort Lauderdale in 2013 and has since expanded into Miami’s Design District and California’s Hermosa Beach. Its swimwear has been featured in Vogue and Marie Claire and worn by celebrities including Kendall Jenner, Jennifer Lopez and Emily Ratajkowski.

In another transaction completed by Sturgis, Fort Lauderdale-based Old School Hospitality purchased the GreenBar & Kitchen building at 1073 SE 17th St. for $1.05 million. The group, which owns and operates five Quarterdeck locations, plans to debut a new concept at the 17th Street property.

Sturgis also closed the following Fort Lauderdale property sales:

  • The $4.2 million sale of a 10,017-square-foot mixed-use building at 1541 Cordova Road. A local investor purchased the building, which includes six apartments and ground-floor commercial space occupied by a full-service butcher and gourmet grocery store. It was extensively renovated in 2020, with a new roof, impact windows and doors, landscaping, LED lights and other improvements
  • The $3.28 million sale of a 14,509-square-foot flex/industrial building at 2821 SW 23rd Terrace on Marina Mile. The owner of Greico Chevrolet purchased the property
  • The $2 million sale of a freestanding commercial building located at 801 N. Federal Hwy. A local investor acquired the 2,047-square-foot building
  • The $1.25 million sale of 1.5 acres of vacant land at 1811 S. State Road 7 in North Lauderdale. The buyer plans to develop a car wash on the property

“Montce’s acquisition underscores how 13th Street is coming into its own as a focal point for local shopping, dining and entertainment,” Sturgis said. “We are leasing and selling our client’s listings at an unprecedented pace and at risk of running out of inventory because of our relentless work ethic and ability to produce results in spite of a global pandemic.”
